Intervention Details


EpxCVCtoFistula is an educational program for dialysis patient switching from CVC to fistula.

Patients on dialysis using a catheter.
Patient receive up 1-2 messages per week, depending on the preference. The educational sequence has 9 messages total.

1-2 times per week

Default Messages
  • Fistulas are far easier to use than catheters, no more replacement procedures, less risks of clotting, and because nothing sticks out of the skin, far less chance of dangerous infections.

There are no alert states for the intervention.


Patients will be directed to call 911 if they are experiencing an emergency. You may designate a care provider to be acutely notified in the event of a defined critical value.
