Intervention

EpxBasicNeeds uses text messaging or phone calls to monitor patient self-assessed well-being, and access to necessary resources.


Current modules include:

  • Check-in
  • Housing
  • Food
  • Employment
  • Education
  • Health Insurance

The Check-in module runs on a weekly basis, Housing, Food and Employment run on a monthly basis, Education runs once every 3 months, and Health Insurance runs once annually.


Communication Modes

Customizable, but recurring weekly, monthly, or yearly.

Messages
Check-in
  • We are excited to hear from you. How are you doing today? Reply 1 for 'better than usual', 2 for 'same as usual' or 3 for 'worse than usual'.
Food
  • You once mentioned concerns about meals. In the past month, how often have you been unable to get enough food for you and your family? (Enter # of meals, such as '2').
Housing
  • It's easier for us to help with housing issues if we know about any problems ASAP. Would you like to talk to us about any upcoming bills? Please text back yes or no.
